We specialize in assisting schools of all sizes with their sports floor projects. Since 1985, we have installed over 150 gymnasium floors, as well as sanded and refinished many more. As one can image, we’ve about seen it all! A significant number of these projects involve installing wood flooring over old tile in existing gymnasiums. Every flooring project has unique requirements that require special attention and know-how to achieve an ideal end result.
Here is a basic overview of some of the many services we can provide to meet any school’s sports floor project requirements.

We install and service sports floors in a general area that includes:

• South Dakota
• Western North Dakota
• Eastern Wyoming
• Western Nebraska

Preliminary Support Services:

• Providing general information to school boards, superintendents, athletic directors, booster clubs, etc.
• Arranging and conducting face to face meetings to answer questions by interested parties
• Making on site inspections to evaluate a facility’s specific needs
• Helping schools write project specifications

Materials and services provided with a typical new construction project:

• Installing the chosen sub-floor system
• Installing chosen maple hardwood flooring
• Sanding the hardwood flooring
• Applying finish to the floor (generally 4 coats of oil-modified polyurethane)
• Installing appropriate interior doorway thresholds and perimeter vinyl base
• Painting basic game court lines

Materials and services provided with a typical installation in an existing facility (additional to items in new construction):

• Moving and adapting existing bleachers to facilitate compatibility with the new floor
• Fabricating ADA compliant ramps to accommodate height differences at doorways

Additional Specialized Services:

• Painting customized schemes that incorporate a school’s choice of borders, lettering and logos
• Sanding and finishing older, existing floors
• Repairing and patching damaged hardwood floors
• Moderate floor leveling
• Installing pole (e.g., volleyball standard) sleeves
• Installing pole sleeve cover plates
